AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
