Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
